My reason for starting this blog is simple. I first found out about Dr. Ron Paul in 2007 during a presidential debate on Fox News in which he got into a mini debate with Rudy Giuliani about foreign policy. I cautiously followed his '08 campaign but didn't officially call myself a supporter but he did make sense. In 2011, when he announced his third run for president, I became a supporter and proudly called myself a "libertarian" and "constitutionalist."I bought a Ron Paul shirt and went to his rally in Tampa last August. Unfortunately, I didn't get fully involved in his campaign and I regretted it. I did talk about him a lot online but I never felt it was enough (but I'm getting completely off topic). What surprised me the most about Ron Paul and the liberty movement was how much music there is out about the message of liberty and issues that come along with it. I found it in Ron Paul tributes all over youtube and other websites. This blog will simply be a place where I will share a bunch of songs that I have been listening to-- you can call it a sort of "soundtrack" to the rEVOLution. I have a bunch of these songs on a playlist on itunes already.
The first song I would like to share is from Sons of Liberty, a libertarian heavy metal project started by Jon Schaffer, member of the band Iced Earth. Much of his music is hardcore and this one is no different but the message is extremely important. The song is called "Tree of Liberty" and is based on the famous quote from Thomas Jefferson.
